Bobby Deol RECALLS Aashram Made People Believe In Him As An Actor: 'I Was Very Scared When I...'
Bobby Deol explained the turning point in his career after doing films like Race 3 and Housefull 4.

Bobby Deol has returned with a bang and how? Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal that has been sweeping records at the box office featured the actor in a negative role. The same garnered him applause and praises from the critics and audiences alike. Bobby got candid in a recent interview about all his recent performances in Race 3 and Housefull 4 and the projects that proved to be a turning point for him.

During an interaction with the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, Bobby Deol stated,

“I did Race 3, Housefull 4 but as an actor they were not giving me that kind of satisfaction. Yes, people noticed me, younger generation came to know who Bobby Deol was, it worked for me that way. When I did Class of 83, it all started for me from there, when people started believing in me as an actor, then Aashram happened.”

Shedding light about the nervousness that he felt before signing up for a character like Baba Nirala in Prakash Jha’s Aashram, Bobby Deol recalled not telling anyone in his family except his wife, “I was very scared when I did the show. Not scared that I won’t be able to do what I want to do as an actor but because people might take it in a wrong way. It is a fight that every actor goes through, you are not trying to promote something, we are portraying characters. When I was playing the character, I didn’t tell my father, brother or mom. I didn’t tell them because I felt they would influence me into not wanting to do it,” he shared.

Continuing, Bobby Deol added,”I was so determined to do it. I told my wife and she said go ahead. She is my biggest strength, she knew exactly what I was trying to do. I told her this is my character; he does all of these things. She was fine. The amount of love that was later showered on me… My brother (Sunny Deol) always says Aashram was my Gadar on OTT.”

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The cast also includes Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri. Produced by Bhushan Kumar under T-series films on a budget of Rs 100 crore, the film has reportedly made over Rs 360 crore worldwide gross in three days of its release.
