BTS Announces Monuments: Beyond The Star Documentary In Emotional Teaser
A 20-second teaser of BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star features the group members sharing their thoughts on their journey with the band in the last ten years.

Disney+ is set to release an eight-part documentary series titled BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star on December 20. The series will shed light on the illustrious journey of the globally sensational Korean boyband, BTS. This series was born from the ongoing collaboration between Disney and Korean entertainment giant Hybe and traces the K-pop group’s evolution over the course of their remarkable 10-year career. Comprising exclusive interviews, unseen performances, and glimpses behind the scenes, the documentary encapsulates the essence of BTS’s ascent to global stardom. BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star will reportedly extend beyond the members themselves, incorporating appearances by Hybe Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and Kang Myeongseok, the author of the BTS biography Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record Of BTS.

A teaser poster offered a sneak peek into the documentary. It showed a partially ajar door with a beam of light peeking in through it. “The 10 years of BTS and beyond,” read the caption.

The series is poised to explore the profound moments that have defined the group’s trajectory, examining their quest for the meaning of life and aspirations. The initial two episodes, titled The Beginning and Adolescence respectively, will be followed by a weekly release of two new episodes every Wednesday, informs Deadline.

The teaser dropped on the same day, provides a brief 20-second glimpse into the documentary, featuring members sharing their thoughts on their emotional journey. The video started with J-Hope saying, “I felt each and every emotion.” Suga follows him saying, “So I started to make music again.” V aka Kim Taehyung says, “I laughed and laughed and laughed.” Jimin laughed and said, “I started crying.” Jin spoke next, “It hit me then.” Jungkook smiles as he says, “This is it.” RM concludes the teaser by saying, “We did it.”

The series ambitiously covers pivotal moments in the band’s trajectory, including their Best New Artist win at the 2013 Melon Music Awards, challenges during the “Danger” period, breakthroughs at the American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, and their experiences becoming sensations in the U.S., culminating in a memorable performance at London’s Wembley Stadium, reports Deadline.

Delving into personal anecdotes, the documentary will reportedly also explore the initial meetings among the members, contract renewals, coping with isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and lighter moments like J-Hope’s surprise birthday celebration and Jung Kook’s high school graduation.

Currently, as part of their mandatory service, BTS members Jin, J-Hope, and Suga are serving in the military at present, with RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook set to follow suit, although specific dates for their service commitments remain undisclosed.
