Veteran actress Saira Banu celebrated 47 glorious years of her film Hera Pheri by taking to her Instagram account on Sunday and recalling her experience working with legendary actors Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. The film was originally released on October 1, 1976. Now, the actress has shared a black and white photo of herself with Vinod and Amitabh and also revealed which scene from the movie is her favourite.
Saira wrote, “It was a very happy and enjoyable time to have done ‘HERA PHERI’. @amitabhbachchan Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna played crafty tricksters in the movie and I played a cunning female swindler. Director Prakash Mehra let the Three of us have a free hand at all the outrageously funny scenes.”

“I had already done a lot of work with Vinod in films such as ‘PURAB AUR PASCHIM’, ‘AAROP’, and ‘NEHLE PE DEHLA’ and with Amitabh in ‘ZAMEER’,” the veteran actress wrote. She continued, “We had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and the Three of us would work at suggestions and improvisations to make the scenes riotously funny especially in the scenes where Vinod is constantly trying to tone down Amitabh from being overly romantic to the heroine.”
Talking about her favourite scene from the film, Saira wrote, “My own favourite scene is where I am rattling off in Marathi and Vinod is trying to curb Amitabh’s zealous attempts to sit next to me. Please see and enjoy these scenes. #47YearsToHeraPheri.”
Saira’s post brought feelings of nostalgia for her fans, who then flooded the comments section with admiration for the actress. One fan wrote, “I would have missed that time, but today the age has passed and acting cannot come like you.” Another added, “How beautiful you were and are ❤️.” One fan wrote, “Thank you so much for taking back to those wonderful days .”
Saira Banu made her Instagram debut on July 7 this year on her husband and legendary actor Dilip Kumar’s second death anniversary. Since then, she has been using the platform to share unseen photos and anecdotes from her personal and professional life.
