Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for his next release The Great Indian Family alongside Manushi Chillar. The film, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, is all set to hit the theatres on September 22. The film’s teaser and the catchy song Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja have been generating significant buzz online. Now, ahead of the film’s release, a video of the actor participating in Mumbai’s most popular Dahi Handi event in Ghatkopar is making rounds on social media.

In a video shared on Instagram, Vicky Kaushal could be seen joyfully breaking the Dahi Handi amidst heavy rainfall. The actor wore a traditional white printed kurta, radiating enthusiasm as he actively participated in the dahi handi celebrations. Despite the rain, his spirit remained undiminished, and he embraced the festivities wholeheartedly. Vicky Kaushal was also spotted performing the hook step from his song Kanhaiya Twitter Par Aaja during the festivities.

Previously, in an interview with News18, Vicky Kaushal spoke about Dahi Handi celebrations. He said, “Growing up in Mumbai, Dahi Handi was more than just a celebration. It was all about the spirit, unity, and unbreakable bonds of the people. I always felt that the human pyramid formed to break the ‘Handi’ is a powerful metaphor for resilience and unity. This festival reflects India’s spirit. I am extremely delighted that this year, I get to be a part of that infectious vibe and celebrate it with such enthusiastic kids. This will definitely take me down my childhood memory lane when I used to go with my family for the local Dahi Handi celebration.”

Speaking of The Great Indian Family, the makers released its first teaser on August 14, offering a glimpse into the comical family drama. In the teaser, Vicky passionately talks about family bonds but becomes emotional when describing his eccentric family members. He compares his family to a ‘snake’ that could ruin his dreams, but then changes his tone, explaining that he’s warning the audience about “The Great Indian Family.”

Apart from The Great Indian Family, Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming biopic Sam Bahadur, slated for a December release. The actor will play the role of Sam Manekshaw who was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

Meanwhile, former Miss World Manushi Chillar made her debut last year alongside Akshay Kumar in Prithviraj.
