Michael B Jordan And Ryan Coogler Working Together On A Secret Project, Deets Inside
Reports confirm the development of Ryan Coogler's next movie, currently untitled, with Jordan as the lead. There have also been talks of a third installment of the Black Panther.

There has reportedly been something cooking up between actor Michael B  Jordan and filmmaker Ryan Coogler. Some details have emerged about their collaboration for an upcoming project. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the development of Coogler’s next movie, currently untitled, with Jordan as the lead. This venture marks another addition to their extensive joint endeavours, including both Black Panther films, Fruitvale Station, and the initial Creed movie. Reportedly, Coogler’s original spec script serves as the foundation for this project, marking his first since Fruitvale Station. Coogler takes on the role of the lead producer, supported by Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.

While the specifics of the film are still not in the open, it has been categorised as a genre project, reported the entertainment news portal. Notably, the film is yet to secure a buyer, prompting industry executives to directly approach Coogler and Jordan’s agency, WME, seeking additional information.

Amid the buzz surrounding this collaboration, questions arise about the possibility of a third Black Panther film. Although Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed it, hints from behind the scenes suggest that it is a potential consideration. Marvel producer Nate Moore explained the cautious approach, expressing a desire to gauge audience reception before committing to a third installment.

“To be honest, this is not me trying to not answer the question. We really want to see how audiences receive the film, and I think Ryan’s interested to see how the film plays before we decide. There are certainly ideas we’ve floated around of what a third film could be if we get to make it. But until the movie comes out, we’re a bit superstitious in that way. We don’t want to count our chickens, because you never know what’s going to happen,” Moore told Collider.

Tinseltown has also been talking about another issue that might interest fans of Michael B. Jordan. Some reports suggest Jordan’s potential involvement in the DC Universe. Speculation includes his executive role in an adaptation of Static Shock and rumours about portraying a version of Superman, possibly Calvin Ellis or Val-Zod, in live-action, reports the Comicbook.

While initial reports suggested a Max-exclusive series, recent developments, like that of including J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot’s standalone Superman film and a Superman reboot by James Gunn and Peter Safran, have not received much update.

In a 2019 interview, Jordan shared the challenges of navigating such opportunities, expressing a preference for original projects like Calvin Ellis. As the mystery surrounding Jordan and Coogler’s upcoming project continues, fans eagerly await any update or confirmation from the filmmakers, actors or their agencies.
