In what looks like an alleged case of police brutality, a constable was seen getting into a scuffle with Girjesh Goud, known as ‘The Living Statue’ or Golden Man in Mumbai’s Bandstand. In a video, which has now gone viral on social media, the constable can be seen pushing, shoving and even hitting the artist with a stick.

However, people who were at the spot, came forward to help the artist. Some bystanders even tried to free the man from the cop’s grasp and put an end to the entire confrontation.

The entire incident came to light when Goud posted the video on his Instagram handle. An investigation is now on to probe whether the constable was in an inebriated state.

In his Instagram post, Goud said that the the video was shot around 8pm on Monday at Bandra Bandstand. He added that a “drunk” cop came and first attacked him with a stick and letter when he tried to stop him, he held his neck, almost choking him.

The artist said that the cop even threatened to take him to the police station and file a case against him.

“I’m an artist, who only has a Instagram family as friends. I request you all to share this video as much as possible,” he added.
