Ranveer Singh’s depiction of Rocky Randhawa in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has truly stood out as one of the most memorable characters. While both Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt made lasting impressions as the lead actors, it was Ranveer’s portrayal of the witty and charismatic Punjabi boy from Delhi, Rocky, that resonated profoundly with the audience. His entertaining mannerisms and sense of humour contributed to the film’s overall appeal.
Recently, Ranveer Singh was interviewed on the Samira Turkistani while he attending the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. The actor talked about the difficulties of bringing the character to life, aiming to create a well-rounded persona that not only entertains but also connects with the audience on a real level.
Ranveer Singh stated that Rocky was one of his most loved characters, and “I am so happy with the way people engaged with Rocky, the little Rockyisms that have come into colloquial use, that’s when you know a character is really loved.” Talking about the Rocky’s impact, the actor mentioned that many people often approach him using the character’s style.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which also starred Alia Bhatt, was a commercial success. Directed by Karan Johar, it also boasts an ensemble cast with seasoned actors like Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan.
Up next, Ranveer Singh is set to take on the iconic role of Don in the third installment of the popular franchise, previously played by megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Speaking to Deadline about this significant opportunity, Ranveer expressed, “I’m hoping to make Don my own and give it my spin, my interpretation. It is the handing over of the baton of one of the most loved and revered franchises of Hindi cinema. The significance of that is not lost on me.
Ranveer Singh is set to reprise his role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film, Singham 3.
