Bajaj Auto has trademarked new names for its upcoming products. In the near future, the Indian automaker intends to launch a slew of new motorcycles and versions, as well as reveal a significant update to the Chetak electric scooter.
They have registered trademarks such as Bajaj Bomber, Zinger, Elixir, Aura, Darkstar, and so on. Recently, Managing Director (MD) Rajiv Bajaj revealed the company’s ambitions to release new products in FY24, according to Motorbeam. Six significant enhancements or altogether new Pulsar models, including the biggest Pulsar ever, will be included in the new goods. They also want to launch new Chetak electric scooter versions, as well as a 100cc CNG motorcycle.
With the new nomenclatures, Bajaj Auto may produce new body designs such as bobbers, cruiser bikes, adventure motorbikes, and so on. Because the Indian two-wheeler behemoth wants to boost its market share in the 125-200cc range, most of the new vehicles will have engines in this range. Out of all of these future introductions, the 100cc CNG bike will be the most distinctive. It’ll be interesting to see how the bike’s technology works. It is projected to be one of the least expensive bikes to use CNG technology.
Meanwhile, in June, Bajaj Auto trademarked the Swinger and Genie names in India, implying new goods from the Chakan-based company. According to Hindustan Times Auto, the names were registered in May 2023 on the Indian government’s patents design and trademarks website, but there was little detail about the body shape of the anticipated product. The Swinger and Genie names, on the other hand, could be for new electric vehicles in the works for the corporation, reports mentioned.
The names Bajaj Swinger and Genie reportedly could be used for new electric scooters that will join the Chetak in the near future. There was also the possibility that Bajaj will employ the same for its future electric three-wheeler, which has been sighted testing on several times in the past. However, trademarking a name does not guarantee that it will be used for new items in the future.
Bajaj had previously trademarked names such as Aura, Hammer, and Racer, which have not yet been used for two-wheelers or three-wheelers. As a result, there’s no certainty that subsequent models will use existing names or create new ones entirely.
On July 5, Bajaj Auto-Triumph announced the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X motorcycles in India. Bajaj Auto introduced the first motorcycles produced in conjunction with the UK-based luxury motorbike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles.
