KL Rahul made a stellar comeback to international cricket as the wicketkeeper batter smashed a half-century in 60 balls against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 clash on Monday, September 11.
While the match started on Sunday, it was pushed to reserve day due to rain, although that had no effect on the Indian batters as Virat Kohli and Rahul resumed from 147/2 after 24.1 overs and stitched together a 150-run partnership.
Rahul showed his peak aggression against the Pakistani bowlers as he dispatched the spinners, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed all over the park. One of the peak moments of his knock came when the wicketkeeper batter danced down the park and hit Shadab for a massive six that left Kohli and Indian captain Rohit Sharma in disbelief.

The Indian duo dominated Pakistani bowlers as they both smashed their fifties each, to put India in a commanding position in the Asia Cup fixture at Colombo.
Virat and Rahul’s partnership of 233 runs helped India reach a massive total of 356/2 against the Pakistan team which was ranked number 1 in the world recently.
Shaheen Afridi got just 1 wicket, Shadab Khan got a solitary scalp while the other bowlers failed to get any success and conceded runs aplenty.

Virat Kohli smashed 122 runs in 94 balls, becoming the fastest batter to 13,000 ODI runs whereas Rahul smashed 111 in 106 balls including 12 boundaries and two massive sixes.
