In a world brimming with choices, some choose kindness, making it a defining aspect of their character. When people consciously opt for kindness, they radiate it, becoming a source of inspiration, profoundly impacting lives, and elevating their quality. Today, we focus on a crucial topic: Animal welfare. Amid our busy lives, sparing a moment of compassion for the voiceless is commendable. Hence, we present a compilation of influencers who go beyond their hectic schedules to care for stray animals, offer sustenance, and, above all, shower them with kindness.
Disha Batra
Disha Batra, a renowned fashion and lifestyle influencer, often describes herself as an animal lover, particularly when it comes to dogs. She rescued her Indian native breed (indie) pet dog, Meeku, from a tragic accident that claimed the lives of her siblings. She firmly believes that we should cease purchasing various dog breeds and, instead, promote adoption, as dog breeding constitutes a cruel practice that needs to be halted. Moreover, She advocates for feeding stray animals, as they often go unnoticed and lack the care they deserve.
Alina Rizvi
Famous for her makeup and fashion content, Alina Rizvi adopted Leo when a friend couldn’t care for him. Her family was initially against it, but they later changed their minds. Now in Mumbai, She feels affection for street dogs and feeds them regularly, missing Leo. His absence taught her that every animal has a story and deserves love and safety.
Shreya Jaiswal
A CA by profession and the co-founder of FinTroop, Shreya Jaiswal has partnered with two animal rescue NGOs: Hoomans For Change, led by Vaibhav Pathak, and Stray Happy, run by Dr. Madhvi Chaturvedi. With Stray Happy, She has organised adoption and vaccination drives for stray animals, using her platform to share adoption alerts, resulting in successful adoptions. She actively supports Hoomans For Change by providing them essential relief materials for the animals’ treatment free of cost.
Diya Lulla
Famously known for her fashion and travel content, Diya Lulla adopted her beloved pet Chia from an adoption page in India. Chia, a 2-month-old Pom-Indie mix, was rescued from the streets while battling a gastrointestinal infection. Her story caught Diya’s attention on Instagram, and she decided to give her a forever home. Diya says that adoption is a rewarding choice, bringing joy, love, and fulfilment to both the adopter and the pet. She encourages everyone to consider adoption whenever possible.
It is these acts of kindness directed toward the voiceless that truly elevate the stature of these influencers. Most importantly, we aspire for a multitude of their admirers and supporters to embrace their principles and choose to create a meaningful impact.
