New Delhi: Sonia Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee and L K Advani took oath as members of Parliament on Monday as 15th Lok Sabha convened on Monday.
Sonia took oath as the member of Parliament, Pranab as the leader of the ruling coalition in Lok Sabha and Advani as the leader of the Opposition in the lower house.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called for a "new beginning" as he entered Parliament house on Monday for the first session of the 15th Lok Sabha.
He briefly addressed the media at the car park and said the new session should be a new avenue of parliamentary democracy and also called for a "new beginning".
He was received by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Prithviraj Chavan and Minister of State, Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayansamy.
