Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Monday filed his affidavit before the Justice Patil commission in the Adarsh Housing scam.

Ashok Chavan in his eight-page affidavit said that he has done nothing wrong or illegal in allotment of flats in Adarsh housing society.

Chavan said that he did not make any suggestions for the allotment of flats to civilians. However, he was silent on the allotment of Adarsh flats to his mother-in-law.

In his affidavit Chavan said, "I say that there was no question of my suggesting that civilian members be included in the Society. And any suggestion that this was discussed with me or that I had suggested or directed or decided on the same is false and denied."

Passing the buck to the bureaucrats, Chavan said that they made all procedural clearances.

Chavan had to step down as Maharashtra Chief Minister in November last year after the Adarsh scam broke out. Last week, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vislasrao Deshmukh also filed his affidavit in the case.
