19. Balkonda is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Telangana and is part of Nizamabad Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Balkonda falls in Nizamabad district and North Telangana region of Telangana. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,80,290 voters in the seat, which includes 82,420 male voters, and 97,861 female voters. In the 2018 Telangana elections, Balkonda recorded a voter turnout of 79.4%. In 2014 the turnout was 73.34%.
In 2014, Vemula Prashanth Reddy of TRS won the seat by a margin of 36,248 (24.89%). Vemula Prashanth Reddy secured 47.48% of the total votes polled.
