Kolkata: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee are locked in a verbal duel accusing each other’s party of having truck with the Maoists.
“I think that the Marxists and the Maoists are both sides of the same coin. They are working together,” Banerjee said, as she targetted Bhattacharjee calling him “both a Marxist and Maoist with a double face”.
Bhattacharjee in turn alleged that the Maoists and Trinamool Congress are working together.
“The Maoists and the Trinamool Congress are working hand in hand with each other in the state,” he said, addressing party workers at the Howrah district party office.
The Union Railway minister alleged that the Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) was running the government with the help of the Maoists. There was no difference between the violent activities of the Maoists and Marxists, she told reporters on Sunday.
