Delhi: JD(U) MLA Shoaib Iqbal wants to join AAP

New Delhi: Janata Dal (United) MLA from Matia Mahal Shoaib Iqbal on Thursday expressed his willingness to join the Aam Aadmi Party. Iqbal is the sole JD(U) legislator in Delhi Assembly.

Iqbal had voted in favour of Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government during trust vote in the Assembly.

But his ties with AAP reportedly soured after a video surfaced showing party member Kumar Vishwas 'joking' about Muharram.

Infuriated by the incident, Iqbal even threatened to withdraw support from the government. But the matter was settled after Vishwas apologised to him saying he never intended to hurt any religious sentiments.
