New Delhi: Ram Mandir issue is not on priority for Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Chirag Paswan said on Wednesday and warned its ally BJP that it should focus on development to avoid any further losses in elections.
Speaking at the News 18 ‘chaupal’ event “Neta Tumhi ho Kal ke" along with BJP leader GVL Narsimha Rao, RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary, Jaiveer Shergill of Congress, Paswan said, “If we stick to vikas as our agenda for the 2019 elections, we will repeat the 2014 mandate, otherwise we should continue to bear losses." (nukhsaan).
BJP lost elections in three states – Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Paswan said that there is anger against the centre in rural areas and among youth.
Speaking on his tweet on seat sharing in Bihar, Paswan said, “We have tried to solve issues within the alliance, it is only when things go out of hand that we take steps like these. There are people who are seeing the tweet as pressure tactics, I want to make it clear that we do not indulge in pressure politics."
There were series of tweets by Chirag, who represents Bihar's Jamui constituency in Lok Sabha which said that people are angry and NDA is going through a sensitive phase after the exit of Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) and Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
He tweeted: “After the exit of TDP and RLSP, the NDA is going through a sensitive phase. The BJP should act on the issues of other allies and resolve them in a respectful manner before it’s too late."
His tweet came days after Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) walked out of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) raising an alarm.
