Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav kicked off his election campaign from the Kosi belt on Wednesday, which includes areas like Madhepura and Saharsa. The polling for the first phase begins on October 24.
“We are starting our campaigning today. Some election meetings have also been planned,” Lalu said.
On Tuesday, Lalu hit back at the NDA for castigating his decision to field his wife Rabri Devi in the upcoming Bihar elections, the RJD chief challenged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy S K Modi to contest against the former CM.
"You claim that we have lost confidence...If you are confident, I dare both of you (Kumar and Modi) to contest from Raghopur and Sonepur Assembly constituencies against Rabri to test your popularity," Prasad told reporters.
He said Rabri would file nominations from the two constituencies on October 9.
