The Samajwadi Party will also move 7 amendments to the Lokpal Bill which will be discussed in the RS on Thursday.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajniti Prasad on Thursday moved an amendment seeking to keep the Prime Minister and the CBI out of the ambit of the Lokpal Bill.

The party leaders said, "Our demand for minorities, Defence has been accepted. We also want the PM and the CBI should be out. Party won't support this Bill and will decide whether to walk out or abstain."

The Samajwadi Party (SP) will also move amendments to the Bill. At least seven amendments are expected from the party's leader in the Rajya Sabha.

The Lokpal Bill will be discussed on Thursday in the Upper House of Parliament.

RJD with four members, alongwith other outside supporters of the Congress-led UPA like the BSP, which has 18 members and the SP with five members, had walked out of the Lok Sabha debate on Lokpal Bill before the crucial vote on Tuesday night.

TMC seeks changes in Lokayukta clause

The Trinamool Congress (TMC), which is opposed to a provision in Lokpal Bill on setting up of Lokayuktas in states, would also move an amendment to the Lokpal Bill on Thursday.

Amid the party's clear stand that it will not allow any tampering with the federal structure, the six Rajya Sabha members of Trinamool Congress (TMC) met at the residence of Union Minister Mukul Roy on Wednesday morning to discuss the issue ahead of the Bill coming up in the House.

The party has objection to the provision in the Bill which makes it mandatory for states to set up Lokayuktas.

A Trinamool MP said his party does not support any move that will affect the federal structure.

CPI demands corporates under Lokpal

The CPI wants corporate houses should be under the ambit of the Lokpal Bill and that the provision of Lokayuktas shall come into force with the state governments consent.
