The CAG in its report held the UPA Government responsible for the loss of revenue to the tune of Rs 1.86 lakh crore.
New Delhi: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Saturday said that it has officially received CAG report on the irregularities in coal blocks allocation. The committee will meet on August 24 and decide on the next course of action.
The Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) in its report held the UPA Government responsible for the loss of revenue to the tune of Rs 1.86 lakh crore on account of irregularities in allocation of coal blocks.
However, the Government on Saturday charged the CAG with not working within the
mandate of the Constitution and said it had no authority to comment on its policy.
Reacting on it PAC Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi said, "Constitutional institutions like CAG should not be attacked."
