New Delhi: A Delhi court will on Thursday decide on a plea filed by the Delhi Police to withdraw a poll code violation case of 2008 against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Metropolitan Magistrate Vijeta Singh had reserved the order on April 9 saying she was 'prima facie' satisfied that the plea for withdrawal of the case was maintainable and could be heard upon.
The court had also reserved its order on the plea of BJP leader Vijay Jolly who had sought to intervene in the proceedings and oppose the police plea saying he had been directly affected in the matter as he had lost the 2008 Assembly polls against Dikshit.
In 2008, Samajwadi Party's Om Prakash had alleged that Sheila violated poll code during campaigning for Assembly elections. The court is also to decide on a plea filed by BJP leader Vijay Jolly opposing the Police's appeal. Jolly claims the police are working under the behest of the Delhi Chief Minsiter.
