70. Teonthar is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Rewa Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Teonthar falls in Rewa district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.

There are a total of 1,88,823 voters in the seat, which includes 1,02,073 male voters, and 86,748 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Teonthar recorded a voter turnout of 68.7%. In 2013 the turnout was 67.95%, and in 2008 it was 67.08%.

In 2013, Pd Ramakant Tiwari of BJP won the seat by a margin of 9,757 votes (8.07%). Pd Ramakant Tiwari secured 36.7% of the total votes polled.

BSP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 6,387 votes (6.9%), registering 28.09% of the total votes polled.
