Noida: Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Sunday said the party's top leadership would decide on the issue of post-polls tie-ups in Uttar Pradesh.
When asked about Beni Prasad Verma's comment, in which he had favoured the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as a better option for coalition than the Samajwadi Party (SP), Law Minister Salman Khurshid refrained from commenting and said "directions of the top leadership will be followed after two days when election results will be out."
Beni Prasad Verma, Union Minister and senior Congress leader from the state, had favoured a tie-up with BSP, a comment from which the party quickly distanced itself.
"I have no anxiety nor I am having sleepless nights with the election results because I am sure that our party is still in game in UP and I am confident that the party has good prospects in western UP," said Khurshid while replying to the queries of mediapersons at Amity University in Noida.
Actual position would emerge on March 6, he said.
At the concluding session of moot court competition held at the university, Khurshid called upon the would-be lawyers to hone their skills and not to restrict themselves to corporate boardrooms but come to the Bar and then to the Bench and contribute to the system.
