'Vidhayak Hain Hum': BJP MLA Threatens SDM With Political Clout, Caught on Cam

Lucknow: The uninvited comments by Bharatiya Janta party leaders could cost them dear in 2019, a social media user warned. Similar reactions poured in from netizens after they were baffled to see a saffron party legislator threatening a woman sub-divisional magistrate of "an MLA's power".

"Aap sarkar ke virudh kaam kar rahi hain... humein dikhaana chahti hain aap SDM hain? Aapko maloom nahi main vidhayak hun? Meri taakat ka ehsas nahi hai? Loktantra ka ehsas nahi hai? Ek naukar... (You are working against the government... you want to prove it to me that you are SDM? Do you not know that I am an MLA? Do you not realise my power... not realise democracy?... A servant...)," Fatehpur Sikri MLA Uday Bhan Chaudhary can be heard saying in the video, which has gone viral.

The entire statement is inaudible as the voice then drowns amid slogans of "SDM zindabad". The incident is said to have occurred on Monday when the MLA had gone to Agra's Kirawali tehsil, where relief was being distributed for crops damaged due to bad weather in April.

A news report quoted district magistrate N G Ravi Kumar as saying that he has called by Kirawali SDM Garima Singh and also the MLA to discuss the issue. However, no complaint was registered in the incident so far.

The legislator's comments have drawn public wrath, with Twitterati slamming "political goons".

Earlier, a Rajasthan BJP MLA had allegedly abused and threatened to slap a government official over delay in procurement of lentils. Uttarakhand legislator Rajkumar Thukral was also caught on camera threatening a woman sub-inspector during a heated argument outside a police station.
