In the 2-minute, 17-second video shared on Sunday, Rahul captioned it as “A day campaigning in Karnataka. Some light rapid fire questions and some very illustrious company.”

The video was likely recorded before Rahul’s election campaigns in Karnataka, held on Tuesday. The state is set to vote for 14 seats during the third phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024, scheduled for May 7.
Best Part of Campaigning?
During the rapid-fire session, Rahul candidly shared his views. When quizzed on the best part of campaigning, he responded swiftly saying, “When it ends!”
Acknowledging that the campaign has been ongoing for 70 days, Rahul revealed that the Bharat Yodo Yatra, which he clarified wasn’t a campaign, involved even more rigorous work, describing it as “non-stop.”
Additionally, Rahul expressed his appreciation for the speeches during the campaign, stating, “I quite like the speeches. It makes one think about what the country needs.”
In the video clip, Rahul also asked Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge about what appears good and bad in the campaign.
Kharge replied, “There is nothing bad. It’s good because we are doing this for the country. The one who is spoiling the country, when we work to stop them, we feel good. At least we are doing something for the country. At least we are doing something for the country.”
Ideology versus power
In another candid exchange, Rahul questioned Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about the importance of ideology versus power.
Siddaramaiah responded, “Ideology.” When asked why, Siddaramaiah explained, “Ideology is always important. We must present the party’s ideology and programs to the people. Even when in power, we need to tell people about our achievements. This way, people will appreciate our stand and bless us.
Adding to the conversation, Rahul expressed his opinion, stating, “You cannot go to power without a clear understanding of the ideology. We have to convince the people of our ideology, which is pro-poor, pro-women, plural, and treating everybody equally.”
He further stated that the political fight, whether at an organisational level or a national level, always revolves around ideology.
Being ‘Simple’ is Key
And lastly, when asked why he always wear a white T-shirt, the Congress leader simply states: “Transparency and simplicity”.
He explained, “I really don’t care about clothes, I just prefer simple.”
