As expected, Nvidia announced its new mid-range GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The new graphics card has been priced at cost $349 (Rs 32,500 in India) which sounds pretty reasonable and is expected to start shipping from January 15. Manufacturers ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac will all launch their variants.
Nvidia claims that the RTX 2060 is 60 percent faster than the GTX 1060, and is capable of going head to head with the GTX 1070 Ti. For the ones who are wonder, it can run Battlefield V with ray tracing at 60 frames per second.
“Next-gen gaming starts today for tens of millions of gamers everywhere. Desktop gamers are demanding, and the RTX 2060 sets a new standard — an unbeatable price, extraordinary performance and real-time ray tracing that blurs the distinction between movies and games. This is a great moment for gamers and our industry,” said Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
The RTX 2060 comes with 6GB of GDDR6 RAM and 240 Tensor Cores that can deliver 52 teraflops of deep learning power, which can improve gaming performance through Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).
For a limited time, Nvidia will offer the new GeForce RTX 2060 bundled with Anthem or Battlefield V. This offer will be valid for desktops equipped with the new GPU as well.
