New Delhi: Google has updated its Android Lollipop operating system to version 5.1 that comes packed with features you would not want to miss. The Android 5.1 version is the first major update rolled out by Google since it introduced the Lollipop OS last year and doesn't only offer stability and improved performance, but also some new features.
The new Android 5.1 OS brings back the silent mode, however, with a little twist. This mode will let you receive only LED notifications without the phone buzzing or making any sound. Nonetheless, you still receive the notifications.
With the updated OS, you need to forget ending up with unwanted WiFi auto-connections because when you end up connecting to one of these networks, the phone will remember it and won't auto-connect the next time.
Another feature controlling the notifications is the new 'until next alarm' option that lets you silence a notification till the time the alarm is set for. This particularly helps in keeping away from those regular disturbers who find it hard to understand your busy status, a report in Gizmodo said.
Speculations are doing the rounds that the new OS could include a VPN service that lets you browse the web more securely through a new app for Google Connection Services.
Furthermore, the new OS will include a new anti-theft feature that will make it difficult for the thief to replace your account as a primary account, add any accounts of their own, and access the phone if they wipe the phone and try to login with their own credentials.
