Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, is to launch a new quad camera smartphone in the Indian market later this month. Taking forward the dual camera legacy, the next smartphone is tailor-made for the selfie lovers with dual front cameras according to the company. Building on the success of Honor 9i, the new smartphone with quad cameras will yet again raise the bar of smartphone photography. Honor started with the ‘Honor 6 Plus’ series which had a dual 8-megapixel rear sensor. This was followed by Honor 6X, Honor 8 Pro, Honor 9i and the recently launched Honor 7X and View 10.
In terms of specifications the recently launched Honor 7X is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core SoC and will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat, topped with EMUI 5.1. The storage variants of the smartphone include 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options, with the capacity of expanding the memory up to 256GB using an external microSD. Following the industry trend, the device boasts of a 5.93-inch near bezel-less, Full-HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will run on a 4GB RAM and will be backed by a 3340 mAh battery.
Optics of the smartphone include a dual-lens camera setup at the back, with a 16-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel Secondary lens with features like PDAF, LED-Flash, Face Detection, HDR, and 1080p video recording @30fps. There is also an 8-megapixel shooter at the front, while the fingerprint sensor of the device has been shifted to the back. Connectivity options on the Honor 7X include 4G-LTE, Dual Nano-SIM (Hybrid), Wi-Fi Direct, Micro-USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.1.
On the other hand Honor View 10 carries an 18:9 aspect ratio display as well as a dual camera setup as the highlight of the smartphone. The Honor View 10 will be available in two colour variants Navy Blue and Midnight Black. The Honor View 10 comes as a premium smartphone offering by the Huawei sub-brand and sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160x1080p) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D glass protection. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor and runs the latest Android 8.0 Oreo topped with EMUI 8.0. The memory offerings of the smartphone include a 6GB RAM along with 128GB internal storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB.
Optics of the smartphone boast of a dual lens camera setup with a 20-megapixel primary and a 16-megapixel secondary lens with f/1.8 aperture at the back. The front sports a 13-megapixel selfie shooter. The 172 grams smartphone will carry dual-SIM connectivity option with a hybrid SIM slot, alongside Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity. The smartphone will draw its juice from a 3750 mAh battery.
