HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ have been launched in India as mid-range smartphones. Here is what the devices have to offer.

HTC has introduced two new mid-range smartphones in India with the launch of HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+. Priced at Rs 15,800 and Rs 19,790 respectively, the HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ will be available in Cool Black and Warm Silver colour variant. Pre-orders for HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ start on June 7, 2018 exclusively on HTC India E-Store. Both the products will be available in retail from June 11, 2018 onwards.

The new HTC smartphones come with an acrylic glass back surface and boast of sporting the biggest displays to date in the HTC Desire series. While the HTC Desire 12 is powered by a MediaTek processor and comes with a 13-megapixel camera at the back, the HTC Desire 12+ is backed by a Snapdragon 450 SoC and boasts of a dual camera setup at the back. Here is a look at what both the smartphones have to offer.

HTC Desire 12 Specifications

HTC Desire 12 sports a 5.5-inch HD+ display with a 1440x720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC and carries a 3GB RAM and a 32GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 2TB. It runs Android with HTC Sense UI on top and is backed by a 2730 mAh battery.

As for its optics, the HTC Desire 12 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and features like PDAF, LED Flash, HDR mode and Full HD (1080p) video recording. AT the front, the device comes with a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include a 3.5mm headphone jack, micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 and dual (nano) SIM support. HTC Desire 12+ measures 148.5x70.8x8.2mm and weighs 137 grams.

HTC Desire 12+ Specifications

HTC Desire 12+ comes as the step-up version of the HTC Desire 12 and sports a 6-inch HD+ display with a 1440x720 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC and carries similar memory offering and connectivity options as the HTC Desire 12. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense on top and is backed by a 2965 mAh battery.

The cameras on the HTC Desire 12+ include a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup at the back with f/2.2 aperture and features including PDAF, Bokeh mode, Full HD recording and an LED Flash. At the front, the device sports an 8-megapixel camera with a f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash.
