Smartphones are used for gaming, heavy computing tasks and messaging but it is also a viable tool for morning alarms for many. But this week, millions of iPhone users were caught off guard when their alarm didn’t go off which means they were probably late for work or their morning routine.
The trouble is many iPhone users, those using the old models, have complained about this issue, so this suggests it is not limited to the iPhones that got the recent iOS 17.2 update. Some of the people sharing their gripe on Reddit this week have mentioned using the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, some of the older iPhone models.
Apple clearly hasn’t noticed the problem that many iPhone users are being deprived of the power to wake up using their device. The interesting thing is that some people have pointed out that their iPhone’s screen lights up but they don’t hear any sound.
It is likely that because of some bug in the Clock iOS app, this alarm issue is happening. But until we figure out what the main reason for this breakage is, people are being advised to turn off Standby Mode on their iPhones, and even switch to the default alarm tone on their iPhone. Software updates tend to bring their own issues, which could be related to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth network, but not having the alarm go off is definitely one for the special list of issues faced by iPhone users across the years.
Apple is ready to enter 2024 with a bang, thanks to the sale of Vision Pro headset expected to start by February next year. The company has invited some of its staff to train them on the product, which is going to cost over Rs 3 lakh for consumers. People have even got a special preview of the Vision Pro headset this month, where they could see spatial videos shot on the iPhone 15 Pro and watch the content on the headset.
