The woman said that this way, the grandmother would live on through her forever.

In a bizarre incident, a woman in Australia has eaten her grandmother’s ashes from the jar in which they were kept. The woman, named Cheyenne, told a Melbourne breakfast show why she did it.

The grandmother had passed away the previous year, and her remains were in a jar she kept at home. The woman not only consumed the ashes herself but also served other members of her family. As the family mourned the loss, Cheyenne tried to lighten the mood and comfort her loved ones. She reportedly came across the ashes in this attempt and gave them to her mother and brother.

According to reports, the woman intentionally decided to eat her late grandmother’s cremated remains and served them to her brother by mixing them into pasta sauce. To the Australian woman, it seemed like just a brother-sister trick- a funny prank.

Confessing the incident on live radio, she said, “I say yes, for your sake. I eat them just for fun.” “Nan will live on through me forever,” she added. During the conversation, Cheyenne revealed her secret, saying, “This is the part I haven’t told anyone. We haven’t lived together since we were little kids. I thought it would be funny to play a prank on him (the brother) and put some of Nan’s ashes in the pasta sauce.” She said this while mentioning that the ashes were first tasted on her mother.

In another incident, a woman named Casie, 26 is addicted to eating her husband’s ashes. She regularly dips her finger into the urn where her husband’s remains rest and licks it. Her husband died of a sudden asthma attack just two months before her strange addiction was exposed on reality TV show My Strange Addiction, the Daily Mail reported. The first time Casie tasted the ashes was when she transferred them from a cardboard box into her husband’s memorial urn.
