In the district of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, the farmers have been experiencing troubles due to stray cattle for years. As reported by Local18, these animals destroy the crops that took months to flourish, while the farmers’ pleas went unheard with the authorities. In such a situation, a farmer decided to take matters into his own hands to get the government’s attention and this is how he did it. According to the farmers, the stray animals end up wasting months of their hard work in a single night. So, a farmer decided to destroy his own sugarcane and paddy crops, to get the attention of the government to the situation. As per the reports of Local18, the increasing number of stray cattle is becoming a big problem in the region. The crops suffer irreversible damage, rendering the farmers helpless and in loss. The administration has remained silent on the situation, angering the farmers. It led to a farmer destroying his own crops with a tractor, which he did by ploughing the vehicle over the crops.
The farmer who destroyed the crops, Ajay Tiwari, released a clip where he is seen accusing the Pradhan and Village Development Officer. According to him, they were informed about the whole situation several times, but the two did not pay attention to it.
