Grieving Husband Beats Brother For 'Insulting Dead Wife'. Reddit Answers If He Was Right
As the widower went off to spend time with his friends, Sam took a bottle of whiskey, gifted to the man by his wife who had passed away.

A man thrashed his sibling for making a disrespectful remark about his deceased wife and then shared the story on Reddit to find out if he was right in reacting the way he did. The 47-year-old’s wife died of an illness four years ago. He says the incident devastated him and his two grown-up children.

While his children had to seek therapy to deal with the pain, he was abiding more by his parents’ way of thinking, where the emotions they felt had to be put to the side, making it worse for him.

The widower’s younger brother Sam (39) has been considered to be the favourite of the family.

Recently, when Sam visited his brother on a game night, he took a bottle of whiskey, gifted to the widower by his wife, and started drinking.

Seeing that Sam had almost drank one-third of the whiskey, his brother questioned him. Sam responded back by making a vulgar comment about the man’s dead wife leading to an altercation.

The next moment, things went from bad to worse. The two siblings fought and the younger one sustained severe injuries, including a broken nose and a chipped tooth. Even though he admits to his wrongdoing, he says that the consequences of his actions least bother him.

I beat the crap out of my brother and I’m not sorry byu/NotaSithLord1515 inTrueOffMyChest

Meanwhile, other users on the social networking site expressed their support for the user, stating that he did the right thing.

A user said, “As the older brother, it was your duty to teach him the words of the philosophers: Talk shit, get hit.”

Another user went on to say, “Give yourself some grace. You’re brother was practically begging for an ass whopping. What he got was what your parents should have given him a long time ago. And I do think you should tell people exactly what happened.”

A third user added, “Ohh love!, I have to say “I do not condone violence ” but you are soo in your right to beat the living daylights of your dumb a** brother. His comment was not just insensitive but incredibly offensive.”

Yet another user commented, “Some people are too comfortable speaking way out of line these days. He got what he deserved. Personally I don’t think you did anything wrong, and the “violence is always bad” folks can kick rocks. You don’t talk about a man’s wife like that, certainly not when she’s passed and not be prepared to get your face smashed in.”

What's your reaction?
