The record attempt was part of Ikea's initiative to produce bedroom décor that promotes better sleep.

Ikea, the Swedish furniture retailer registered its name in the Guinness Book of World Records, and no, it’s not for selling the most number of products. In a unique celebration, the company recently gathered 2,052 employees to celebrate their new store opening in Sweden, but it was not an ordinary corporate gig. It organised a theme-based Pyjama party, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing two-piece pyjamas at a single venue. Crazy, isn’t it?

According to company officials, the record attempt was part of Ikea’s initiative to produce bedroom décor that promotes better sleep.

Fredrika Inger, IKEA Managing Director, Sweden, said in an official statement, “We’re thrilled about this collective effort. Good sleep benefits everyone and we believe that prioritising it will make a significant difference. Small adjustments, like choosing the right pillow or lighting can lead to big improvements. Our goal is to make these improvements available to everyone because good sleep should be something everyone can achieve.”

In India, Ikea operates stores in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Worli City and Bengaluru. Recently, the company said that it is launching same-day delivery in Hyderabad and intends to expand it across all of its markets by next year.

Recently, a Mumbai-based cyber-security expert Chinmay Prabhu set a Guinness World Record for solving the Pyramid puzzle inside a soap bubble without bursting it.

Interestingly, Prabhu has five World Records to his name. He has mastered solving pyramids and Rubik’s Cubes in several difficult approaches such as cycling, jumping and skydiving.

Doing what nobody ever did, he achieved a world record by solving a Rubik’s Cube in 24 seconds while skydiving.

An American architect Bryan Berg set a record for building the tallest house of cards in 8 hours. He constructed a 54-level house of cards, a task so difficult that he had to mount a ladder to reach the final floors.
