The UK general elections are approaching. With the election fever setting in, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has received the biggest support from his wife, Akshata Murty. In an Instagram post, she jotted down six points detailing the common things between her and Sunak. In their joint post, the UK PM also shared a few pictures from their interaction with the citizens in Harrow East.

Mentioning that “People always ask us – “What is the thing you have most in common?” they outlined the following points that they share in common:

1. Our shared love of watching Friends reruns and eating Spanish food

2. The values that we share

3. The belief that hard work should decide where you go in life

4. The belief that our children will inherit a better world than the one we share today.

They concluded the post with a self-reflection, stating that they had a great experience speaking to the people in Harrow about the values that “matter to them and the future they want for their children.”

The post was shared on Sunday and has so far garnered over 30,000 likes. Prior to this, Akshata Murty also shared a small but powerful message for her husband, showing support ahead of the elections. With pictures posing with him, she wrote, “I’m with you, every step of the way.”

The post received support from followers, with many applauding Murty for being by her husband’s side. “The best Prime Minister. Your husband has done a fabulous job and we are proud of him. Hope I get a chance to meet him someday to let him know he has done an outstanding job,” one even wrote.

Last week, the British Prime Minister, in a surprising move, announced early elections for the UK. Setting the date for July 4, Sunak, in his ‘rain-soaked’ speech, said that he is optimistic that the economy is “pointing in the right direction and the future will be better.”
