Uttarakhand Man Loses Rs 30,000 Cash, Laptop, Tablet in Bus in Bengaluru, Cops Respond
Uttarakhand man loses a bag containing Rs 30,000 cash, laptop, Samsung tablet and important documents in a theft in Bengaluru, seeks help.

Who would’ve thought that a work tour would devolve into a nightmare? For a Uttarakhand mountain guide, this nightmare turned into a harsh reality after he found himself stripped of Rs. 30,000, a laptop, a Samsung tablet, and, most crucially, vital documents while journeying on a TNSTC (Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation) bus. Reaching out to ‘X’, a user and family friend, Anand Sankar relayed the incident, hoping to prompt immediate police intervention.

“I have been very sad and ashamed since yesterday at how the police in Bangalore treated an honest hardworking boy from my neighbouring village,” he began. The individual in question, Mukesh Pawar, a certified mountain guide from Sidri village in Uttarakhand, was in Salem, Tamil Nadu, to install and certify a rope course for a client. His bags were stolen while he was traveling from Salem to Bengaluru on February 12, and he noticed their absence upon reaching Majestic.

“He kept a watchful eye on his 2 bags at all stops. He saw the bags in Hosur and after it crossed the border to halt at Attibele. The next stop was Electronic City. A lot of passengers were getting down at this stop and there was commotion. The time was past 11 pm. In the darkness he momentarily lost sight of his bags. When he had to alight at Majestic, to his horror, he found that both his bags were missing,” the OP added.

Pawar found little help from the TNSTC bus staff who suggested he approach the Majestic police station. However since the bags were last seen at Electronic City, he was asked to visit the Electronic City police station, but it took multiple efforts for the police to file an FIR.

“They were not interested in even trying to communicate with him in Hindi,” lamented Sankar. “They told him to go and file a complaint in Majestic! They refused to hear Mukesh or even attempt to talk to the police in Majestic. Poor Mukesh went back to Majestic, again they shooed him back to Electronic City! Not one policeman offered to communicate with him and listen to his story.”

Subsequently, Pawar missed his flight from Bengaluru to Delhi due to the chaos. “He was left with only Rs 600 and thankfully his phone. He called his relatives who sent money to buy a ticket for the next flight,” Sankar said.

Pawar has safely reached Dehradun but he says his worst loss was his certificates.

“All his educational and professional certificates and his driving license (were in the bags),” Sankar explained. “This loss hurts him the most as he is a freelancer and every company he works with has to verify his original mountaineering certificate before expeditions.”

Consequently, Sankar requested social media users and anyone capable of assisting in filing the FIR and initiating the investigation, as Pawar cannot afford to return to Bengaluru due to financial constraints.

In subsequent updates, Sankar disclosed that Pawar had received a copy of the FIR filed at Electronic City and is awaiting further developments.

The official handle of Bengaluru Police acknowledged the now-viral post and requested Sankar to provide Pawar’s contact information for further communication.
