The viral video starts with a man and a lioness sitting on a hill and enjoying the weather.

Lions are a marvel to look at due to their enormous size, but they should be admired from a distance, only as they are untamed animals. Recently, a video went viral on social media that proves this otherwise. The viral video starts with a man and a lioness sitting on a hill and enjoying the weather. The way this person is sitting alongside the wild animal proves that he is not afraid of her. The video then shows him cuddling lovingly with the animal, with the latter showing no signs of aggression and acknowledging the man’s loving gesture. It is further followed by the man sleeping peacefully and the lioness sitting alongside him. This shows that the person feels secure with the wild animal and believes that she will not harm him. Forget attacking, the animal instead starts licking him. The clip concludes with this person sitting on the ground and the lioness licking him on his face and hands. The video has garnered a staggering 1.9 million views.

Social media users heaped praises on the video. “What an absolutely beautiful animal”, wrote one of the users. Another commented, “Judging by the love that the lioness has for this guy, he must be really good to her.” Others dropped heart emoticons in the comment section, showing their love for the endearing bond between the animal and the man.

A similar video went viral in 2023, reflecting on the adorable companionship between lions and humans. The clip shows the lion and the man playfully frolicking aloud, cuddling with each other. After some time, yet another pair of a lion and lioness join as well, and the man plays with them too. The man in the clip has been known as Dean Schneider, a Swiss animal sanctuary founder. He relocated to South Africa in 2017 to create Hakuna Mipaka, a wildlife refuge and rehabilitation centre. Earlier, he worked as a banker and financial planner in Switzerland. His sanctuary is a 400-hectare (4 square km) lion estate for captive-bred animals. Zebras, impalas, kudu, hyenas, baboons, and cheetahs live in different areas.

Dean Schneider has formed a bond with the lions in his sanctuary since when they were cubs.
