The viral video showcased a popular Indian breakfast dish, paratha, being fried in reused, sparking widespread outrage and shock.

When it comes to health, we often steer clear of high-oil foods to maintain stable cholesterol levels and safeguard our well-being. Now, a viral video challenges this notion. The video circulated online showcases a popular Indian breakfast dish, paratha, being fried in reused oil, sparking widespread outrage and shock.

The video begins with the person behind the camera expressing disbelief at witnessing the use of reused oil to prepare the paratha, which is served to customers who seem to enjoying it, remarking, “Esko khakr kachori ka taste aata hai (This tastes like kachori). As the footage unfolds, we see the cook, donned in a food safety net and sunglasses, pouring oil from a tin can to fry the paratha. The process continues until the paratha takes on a black and brown hue. What’s particularly alarming is the revelation that this unconventional method has garnered a significant demand among the customers.

The video was shared on X (Formerly Twitter) with the caption, “True recipe for cancer (petrol diesel wala paratha) Where are we heading?” The video also reveals the location where this diesel-fried paratha is prepared: Bablu Dhaba in Chandigarh.

Adding to the humour, one commented, “At least he wore a cap on his head so there’s no hair in the cancer paratha” while a person quipped, “Fssai Choked to death after watching this Video.”

A used said, “It’s probably just old oil…diesel will catch fire around 200C.”

“There is a reason uncle is wearing glasses. Unse khud se nahi dekha ja raha (He himself can’t see this),” someone wittingly remarked.

“Isn’t there any kind of Food Safety Regulations for street foods in India?” a person questioned.
