In recent years, the Delhi Metro has witnessed a concerning trend of physical altercations among commuters. These incidents often begin with heated verbal exchanges, which unfortunately escalate into physical violence, involving slapping, kicking and shoving. One such video, currently making rounds on X, depicts a similar scenario. Although undated, the video captures a dispute between two women within the metro premises. Initially appearing as if the confrontation might de-escalate, tensions quickly rise, leading to hair pulling and slapping. At some point, one of the women accuses the other of being intoxicated.
It is unclear how the argument started or what was the reason behind the fight. The X user who shared this video wrote, “Will Delhi people ever improve? There was a fight between women in the Metro. Then there was slapping and pulling off each other’s hair, and a fight broke out between the two women after an argument!” So far, this clip has gathered over 6,000 views.

In response, many people highlighted how more and more fights are breaking out in an otherwise calm Delhi metro. An X user commented, “Brother, someone should turn off the AC of the metro. Then see how many fights happen. Delhi is full of uncouth people.”
भाई, कोई मेट्रो का AC बंध करदो। फिर देखो कितनी लड़ाई होती है। जाहिलो से भरी जगा है दिल्ली।— Rahul Barua (@RahulBarua20250) June 7, 2024
This is not the only bizarre video that has emerged from Metro in recent months. Back in April, a woman decided to sit on the lap of a man after he reportedly refused to stand up from a reserved woman seat in a crowded metro. The woman was unabashed about her decision and said that she is just following the rules.

The response to this video was divided, while some people related to the woman’s frustration, others felt she was overreaching and invading the personal space of other passengers.
An X user commented, “I’m surprised to read the comments, where are you manners guys, women should be given a seat anyway. What’s wrong with you, looks like your parents did not teach you enough manners. Shame !!!”

Someone else wrote, “Yes, women should be given seats. But if she’s a karen like here, then there is no need to be a gentleman. Especially when she is disrespectfully thrashing into your private boundary.”

Previously, the DMRC published an advisory for people against making reels and other videos within metro premises to make journeys smooth for other passengers, now it appears that the DMRC needs to issue guidelines against fighting as well.
