When Sachin Tendulkar Went Into 'Detective Mode', All For A Vada Pav
Sachin Tendulkar is a big foodie and loves to munch on Vada Pav, especially the ones from Shivaji Park.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 51st birthday today, April 24. Rightfully earning the title of the living ‘God of Cricket’, the legendary cricketer’s contributions to Indian cricket are ‘invaluable’. Giving 24 years of his life and career to Cricket and the country, Sachin Tendulkar has won hearts all over the world. While Sachin’s fans are well aware of his passion and love for the sport, the Master Blaster also shares an unbeatable love when it comes to food; especially his favourite Vada Pav.

Needless to say, while Sachin Tendulkar is a very humble person, he is also a confessed foodie and enjoys trying out different dishes and cuisines. Interestingly, Mumbai’s Vada Pav is one of the most favourite items on his list. He has repeatedly expressed his love for the snack, especially those sold at Shivaji Park.

When Tendulkar showed off his Vada Pav testing skills

During the 5th season premiere of Breakfast With Champions, Tendulkar sat down for an interesting chat with Gaurav Kapur and expressed his love for Maharashtrian delicacy. His perfect attempt at identifying his favourite Shivaji Park Vada Pav left the host quite surprised.

As the video plays, a plate of Vada Pav is served to him, stating that they are from his favourite place- Shivaji Park. Clearly, unconvinced by it, Tendulkar, with just a single bite saw it through, leaving Kapur in splits.

In the video, Sachin Tendulkar begins by checking the filling of the Vada Pav and taking a bite of it. “Yeh topi aur kisi ko pehnao. Yeh Shivaji Park ka nahi hai,” he said while asking the actual shop where the dish was purchased. To this, Kapur confessed that it was purchased from Jogger’s Park.

Times when Sachin Tendulkar expressed love for Vada Pav

While Sachin Tendulkar had often expressed his love for Vada Pav, he once recalled how he used to munch on 4-5 pieces a day. Speaking to Curly Tales, the legendary cricketer shared how he would go to Shivaji Park Stadium for cricket practice and enjoy vada pav from the stadium canteen. “After hours of practising on the field, I used to have vada pav from the canteen and would eat 4-5 of them every day,” he said.

In another instance, Tendulkar in an interesting reaction to Ajinkya Rahane’s social media shared how he likes to eat his vada pav. While Rahane shared a picture of himself enjoying the snack on the side of a street, the cricketer took to the comment section and explained his preference.

“I like my Vada Pav with red chutney, very little green chutney & some imli chutney to make the combination even better,” he commented.
