Many wrestling fans might think the WWE stars take steroids to bulk up their physique and maintain their body frame. SmackDown star LA Night has recently spilled the beans about the debatable topic during an interaction on Australia’s Sunrise talk show alongside Grayson Waller. While most of the discussion revolved around the development of WWE’s Elimination Chamber, Knight was casually asked by the host if there were any “cheap ways” to maintain the physique of the athletes. The 41-year-old American immediately denied the possibility of using steroids by any professional wrestler, referring to WWE’s strict drug testing policy.
When the anchor mentioned steroids, La Knight was quick to respond, “You can’t (use them).” According to him, WWE follows a robust monthly routine of doing drug tests on all wrestlers contracted with the company. The measure is taken in an effort to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the superstars.
After Knight made the revelation, Grayson Waller joked about having an easier life, However, the Australian made sure to clarify that this kind of cheating is not acceptable from a WWE star. Taking a cue from Waller’s remark, Knight said, “Yeah, because that would actually make recovery easy but, no, every month we get tested. Every single month.”
WWE has a Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, which marks the guidelines for maintaining a drug-free and fair environment. Apart from the monthly procedure, the company may call any wrestler for random and suspicion testing if it identifies any potential substance abuse issues.
According to the WWE regulations, the first offence of a failed drug test carries a 30-day punishment, while penalties for subsequent offences are harsher. For the second offence, the company imposed a 60-day ban on the accused wrestler. In case of the third violation, the person must be admitted into a rehabilitation centre. Those, who deny following this rule, might see their WWE contract immediately get terminated.
As far as the Elimination Chamber is concerned, it marks WWE’s first-ever Premium Live Event of this year. It is the first time that the show will be hosted in Perth Australia. Eyes will be on Grayson Waller, who will look to make a big statement infront of the home fans. WWE, however, has yet to confirm the roster for the Elimination Chamber.
