Ravindra Jadeja left his mark in the IPL 2024 clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings on Friday night. He first kept CSK innings from withering away with a solid half-century and then took a one-handed stunner to put an end to LSG captain KL Rahul’s brilliant innings towards the end of the contest.
LSG needed 16 runs to beat CSK at the Ekana Cricket Stadium and Rahul, batting on 82, looked set to take his team over the line. However, his attempt at slamming a short and wide delivery from Matheesha Pathirana proved to be the end of his brilliant innings and it was all thanks to Jadeja’s scarcely believable diving effort at point.
With the ball flying at some speed to the left of Jadeja, the CSK allrounder dived and stuck his hand out to pull off a blinder which left his captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul both stunned.

LSG overhauled the target of 177 with an over to spare for their fourth win of the season. They now have eight points from five seven matches and are currently fifth on the IPL points table.

Rahul’s innings comprised nine fours and three sixes and together with Quinton de Kock (54 off 43), he was involved in a century stand for the first wicket for LSG which put them on course for a big eight-wicket win over CSK.
This was CSK’s third defeat of the ongoing season but they remain third on the points table with eight points thanks to a decent net run-rate.
The two teams will again lock horns next Tuesday.
