Following the senior team’s footsteps, the young Indian lads have completed an undefeated run into the final of the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024. They are now set to face a fierce Australian squad that is brimming with talent. India’s journey to the final saw them take down teams like Bangladesh and New Zealand in group games.
They faced South Africa in the semi-finals but were able to beat them by two wickets. The match began with India winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. Raj Limbani made the most impact for the defending U-19 world champions as he scalped three wickets to help curb the hosts at 244. In the second half, skipper Uday Saharan led from the front to score 81 runs and help his side complete a successful chase.
India will play their U-19 World Cup final against Australia at the Sahara Park Willowmoore Cricket Stadium on February 11. The Aussies are also currently undefeated in the ongoing tournament. They have bagged victories against top teams like Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan. The only match they failed to win was their Super Six game against the West Indies. That match led to no result after being interrupted by rainfall.
