The enrollment process in Mahatma Gandhi (English Medium) Schools in Rajasthan will commence on May 7. The institution heads of all the Mahatma Gandhi (English Medium) schools will issue a notice regarding the admission process on May 6. From May 7 to 12, students or their parents aspiring to be a part of the admission process in these schools will be permitted to apply. The head of the institution will post the list of class-wise vacant seats and applications received in his school on the notice board on May 13. The admission will be conducted via a lottery system on May 14, depending on the applications received and class-wise vacancies. A school lottery system is a random selection process for determining which students will attend. The lottery system aims to give all applicants an equal chance of getting admitted. A school lottery system only happens when many more than expected students apply for admission.
The list of the selected students will be displayed via the school notice board on May 15. Following the selection, the admission process in these schools will start on May 16 and classes will begin from July 1. In Mahatma Gandhi (English Medium) Schools comprising kindergartens/pre-primary classes, new admissions will be completed for the nursery class seats. In the remaining classes, two students promoted from the previous classes will be able to get admission.
In the Mahatma Gandhi (English Medium) schools for first class, the admission process will be completed on all the seats of first class. As per the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education, in English medium schools where admissions are to be made in class 11th, separate instructions will be issued for admission after the faculty is approved.
For Mahatma Gandhi and Government English medium schools, seat allotments are as follows: 30 students per section for classes 1 to 5, 35 students per section for classes 6 to 8, and 60 students per section for classes 9 to 12.
As per a report in The Hindu, Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools are grappling with the issue of poor language proficiency among their teachers.
