Atletico Madrid, who are looking to stir things around have come up with a £17.5million bid for Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla.
Atletico's club chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin was in persuasion talks with Arsenal regarding the 28-year-old.
The La Liga side have sold Radamel Falcao for a whopping £51million and are hoping the deal would tempt the Spaniard to come home.
The Red and White side have already signed Cazorla's good friend David Villa from Barcelona and are hoping for the due to play for them.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners would have any sort of interest considering Cazorla contributed massively with 12 goals last season.
With Gonzalo Higuan almost in their bag, and the efforts they are undertaking to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, it is unlikely that the the North London side would be in any mood to let the Spaniard go.
