Granero suffered the injury during Sociedad's 2-0 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in their Champions League group phase opener on Tuesday.
Sociedad acquired Granero this summer on a one-season loan from English club Queen Park Rangers with the option to buy the player at the end of the season.
