London: Manchester City Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that Argentine striker Sergio Aguero will be out for the next four weeks after sustaining an "important" injury.
The 27-year-old Argentine striker, who scored six goals this season, suffered a muscle tear during Argentina's 0-2 home defeat against Ecuador in the opening round of the South American qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"Sergio has a muscle injury - it's an important injury so I don't think he will be back before one month," Pellegrini said at a press conference on Friday, ahead of Saturday's Premier League tie against Bournemouth.
The Argentine striker left the field in the 18th minute of the second half of the Argentina- Ecuador match after suffering a muscle injury in his left leg.
Beside Sergio, City suffers the absence of the injured Spanish David Silva and Serbian Aleksandar Kolarov.
Manchester City is currently leading the Premier League standings with 18 points after eight rounds, ahead of runner-up Arsenal with 16 points.
