A biopic on the American songwriter Bruce Springsteen’s life is in its early stages, and it appears that some famous celebrities are already vying for roles. As per the latest reports, The Bear fame Jeremy Allen White is in talks to play Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biopic, which is reportedly titled Deliver Me From Nowhere. Reportedly, no deals have been finalised yet between the makers and the actor, but some of the most celebrated names in the industry are involved in the production.

The film Deliver Me From Nowhere is based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 book titled Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska and will centre on the creation of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 record, Nebraska. Scott Cooper is adapting the script and is expected to direct it as well. The project is being developed by Gotham Group, with Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein serving as producers. Former Netflix film chief Scott Stuber is also working on the film adaptation of Deliver Me From Nowhere. Reportedly, even A24 is behind this much anticipated biopic.

The film is expected to follow Bruce Springsteen’s journey to create his sixth studio album. Nebraska was released two years before his blockbuster hit Born in the USA, which came out in 1984. Nebraska ranked No. 150 in Rolling Stone’s 2020 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Jeremy Allen White appeared alongside Zac Efron in last year’s A24 wrestling-themed film The Iron Claw, following his role as Carmy on FX’s The Bear. He earned a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and a SAG Award for his role in The Bear. He is currently filming Seasons 3 and 4 of the series in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Bruce Springsteen will earn one of the greatest distinctions in songwriting: Fellowship of the Ivors Academy. The artist will be the first American musician to receive the award, which acknowledges works that have impacted the cultural fabric of the United Kingdom. Only 24 other people have ever been awarded the fellowship, including Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, and Kate Bush. Bruce Springsteen was born into a working-class family in New Jersey in 1949 and was reportedly motivated to pursue music after watching Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan Show.
