Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on Wednesday said he would take up the issue of drug smuggling from neighbouring Rajasthan into the state with his counterpart Vasundhra Raje.
"Drugs like poppy husk are being openly sold in Rajasthan due to which it is difficult for the Punjab government to check their inflow in the state," the CM said after visiting the drug de-addiction centre at Central jail here.
Badal said he would soon take up the matter with the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia to talk through a solution to the problem.
The CM also announced that the drug de-addiction centre currently operating in the local civil hospital would be soon upgraded and the experts of the Baba Farid Health Sciences University would provide their services to the treat drug addicts.
