HYDERABAD: APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana was grilled by the CBI officials at his residence here on Thursday on his possible involvement in the Emaar scam.A team of CBI sleuths descended on his residence on Thursday evening and enquired about who had taken crucial decisions on Emaar which made the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) incur huge losses after it alienated precious government land in favour of Emaar in a joint venture project.Satyanarayana was industries minister in late YSR’s cabinet when the scam took place.According to sources, the CBI sleuths wanted to know to what extent he was involved in the scam. The PCC chief is understood to have told the CBI officials that the original land allotment was made to Emaar during N Chandrababu Naidu’s regime and that when he became the industries minister, he, in fact, tried to rectify certain mistakes during which time he was shifted from the industries ministry.Senior IAS officer LV Subrahmanyam also appeared before the CBI in connection with the Emaar scam. Sources told Express that Subrahmanyam, presently the executive officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), was asked by the agency to appear before it with regard to the case.Subrahmanyam was the vice- chairman and managing director of the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) when the Emaar deal was finalised. ‘’He was asked questions pertaining to the equity and other decisions taken during his tenure on Emaar,’’ sources said. The IAS officer is said to shown some documents to the CBI on the decisions taken during his tenure in the APIIC. ‘’He may be called for questioning again,’’ sources added. GALI CASE: Meanwhile, the CBI is gathering all details of the properties owned by former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy to attach his properties. ‘’The exercise of attaching his properties is going on,’’ sources said.  The CBI has also opened its temporary office in Bellary so that the team can work from there. CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana is also camping in Bangalore on Thursday in connection with the probe into the illegal mining case.
