CNN, CNN-IBN launches Generation Next
CNN International along with its Indian partner CNN-IBN on Tuesday launched new programme Generation Next.

New Delhi: CNN International along with its Indian partner CNN-IBN on Tuesday launched new programme Generation Next.

Announcing the launch of Eye on India: Generation Next, Rena Golden, Senior Vice President, CNN International, said that CNN aims to provide its global audience a comprehensive look at the country's powerful youth demographic.

"More than half-a-billion people under the age of 25, or one in twelve people in the world is a young Indian. They are a potent economic and cultural resource on the world stage," Golden said.

Golden added that the program will kick off with CNN Connects: India's Generation Next on Sunday, March 18, which will be anchored by CNN-IBN's Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai and CNN anchor Monita Rajpal.

The programme will feature a panel of young Indian celebrities, business leaders and commentators, and an audience of 100 Indian youth. The interactive show will debate four main themes - The Power of Youth, Love: India Style, Caste Challenge and India Pride.

Through the week, CNN teams, supported by CNN-IBN teams, will report from various locations around India for 'World News Asia' and 'CNN Today'.

Sardesai said the new programme is an opportunity "to strengthen the partnership of India's news leader with world news leader" which is 18 months old and growing.
